FATTO A MANO CON AMORE

1 Modeling
The first step in making our plates is to turn and shape the clay to give it the desired shape. The more complex pieces are entirely modeled by hand as our plate chapeau de prêtre) while others are made from molds.
The resulting biscuit (yes, that's what we call it!) is ready for a first firing in the kiln at a temperature of 1000°C.

3 Enamelling
Once the plate has been decorated, the workshop carries out the glazing, which consists of bathing the plate in a liquid solution to set the enamel.
After this step, the plate is dried to eliminate water and avoid the risk of cracking. Then it returns to the kiln for a second firing at 1000°C for a few hours.
Thanks to our “under-enamel” painting step, before the enamelling phase, our plates are dishwasher-safe.

2 Decoration
Once the first firing is done, it’s time for the crucial stage of decoration.
This step requires great precision and mastery in mixing colors with enamel in powder form. Each piece being handpainted, it is unique.
